Steel Cut Oats with Nut Fusions and Fresh Figs

ingredients

  • 2 C. Water
  • 1 C. Coconut or Almond Milk
  • 1 Tbsp. Coconut oil
  • 1 C. Steel-cut oats
  • ΒΌ tsp. Salt
  • Dash of Cinnamon (optional)
  • Made in Nature Pomegranate Ginger Nut Fusions
  • Blueberries
  • Figs, sliced

DIRECTIONS

  1. Heat coconut oil in a skillet over medium heat. Stirring, add the steel-cut oats and quickly toast until golden. Remove from heat
  2. In a large saucepan, combine the water and milk and bring to a simmer
  3. Stir the steel-cut oats into the milk mixture and reduce heat. Stirring occasionally, simmer for about 20 minutes until thickened
  4. Stir in the salt and reduce heat. Simmer about 10 minutes until liquid is absorbed
  5. Remove from heat. Spoon the steel-cut oats into bowls and allow to stand for several minutes before serving
  6. Add a dash of cinnamon if desired. Finish with nut fusions, blueberries, and sliced figs as desired
