What is "Certified Organic?" Certified Organic is defined as grown and processed without the use of synthetic pesticides and fertilizers. Fields must be free of chemicals for at least three years to be certified organic. Growers also utilize materials and practices that enhance the ecological balance of natural systems.
Who certifies Made In NatureĆ Dried Fruit as Organic? Independent third parties - such as Quality Assurance International (QAI), a highly respected certifying agency - conducts audits of our growers and their facilities to assure that the product is indeed organic.
Made In Nature products are organically grown and/or handled in accordance with the Organic Foods Production Act of 1990 and 7 CFR Part 205; and in accordance with the guidelines established by the USDA's National Organic Program.
Does Made In Nature Dried Fruit contain sulfur? No. In order to be certified organic, our fruit cannot contain sulfur or any similar chemical preservative. Instead we control shelf life by selecting only the highest quality fruits and processing and packaging them under strict hygienic conditions.
What are Made In Nature's quality control steps? Made In Nature works directly with our suppliers to insure that only high quality products are distributed under the Made In Nature name. Made In Nature has developed very strict product specifications, which are used to ensure product consistency and uniformity. All products are reviewed several times prior to final release into distribution.
 Why does Made In Nature dried fruit look different than other dried fruit? All organic dried fruit darkens naturally over time on the exterior due to the lack of chemical preservatives. If we used chemicals to preserve our product, we would not be able to certify it as organic. This natural darkening has no effect on taste, flavor, or healthfulness.
How are Made In Nature fruits dried? Our products are tunnel-dried or sun-dried, depending on the product. After drying, the fruits are packaged in resealable pouches.
Where are Made In Nature dried fruits grown? Our products are grown organically all over the world. We are constantly on the lookout for the highest quality produce anywhere on the planet.
Which Made In Nature products are Kosher? The following items are Certified Kosher: Apples, Black Mission Figs, Calimyrna Figs, Prunes, Raisins, Apricots, Mangos, Cranberries and Pineapples.
